In the wake of rising incidents of violence against the students in Campus, a new Scheme has been launched to protect the Students from the unfair elements and to improve their personal security. Though our Schools and Colleges are the center of excellence, often it becomes a safe heaven for the anti-social elements. In the recent past it has been continuously been observed that the students are using these temples of education as places for unlawful activities. Weapons, explosives and inflammable items are founding places in the campus in place of studying materials. The outsiders also gain free access to the Campus and shelter there. There were instances in which weapons and explosives were safely brought in and stored in the college premises. Such elements may cause public disorder in and out side the college campus and disrupt the traffic on the main thoroughfare outside the campus. They also take leadership in ragging the junior students. It is high time that we stop such practices to provide an atmosphere where a bona-fide student gets a conducive atmosphere free from violence and disturbance. To insulate such elements from the Campus, a Student’s Co-ordination is necessary.

Students form a sensitive group of community and needs to be guided and protected well through there academic years. Thiruvananthapuram city police has special facility to receive and enquire about ragging and other related complaints of social importance.
