Robbery,  gang leaders held

Thiruvananthapuram, 24th July 2010 : A Police Team led by Circle Inspector Shri: Sureshkumar and Sri. Anilkumar arrested one Amernath and Sunderamoorthy hailing from Ramjinagar at Trichy District.   The duo were the prime accused in the robbery cases reported at Cantonment Police Station and Thampanoor Police Station.  The case was that a
gang of migrant thieves tactically committed theft of a bag from the passengers who were sitting inside a parked Car at Statue junction.  The gang scatters currency notes on the road near the parked vehicles and applies tricks to invite the passengers attention to it.  The gang acts at the very same moment when the person inside the vehicle steps out and turns to the money thinking that it is possibly belonging to him.  At this gap, the thieves decamp from the spot with whatever they get after diverting the attention as above.  The suspects are believed to have applied the same modus operandi at many places.

In another operation at Thampanoor, the gang has lifted  gold ornaments weighing 40 sovereigns,  Rs.12,000 in cash and a mobile phone handset from an woman.  To nab the prime accused, the investigators were tailing the Trichi gang.

The suspects were in Jaipur Jail and recently came out on bail.  When they came to Trivandrum to take out their associates on bail, the Police Team rounded them up and arrested.  Police Constables Sri.Christopher Shibu, Fasil, Nagaraj, Sreekumar, Gopakumar were including the Police Investigation Team
